History
In 1993, after a merger between the Madgeburg Technical University, Teacher Training College, and the Academy of Medicine led to the start of OVGU. In 1995, the university began offering a lecture series to the general public. In 1996, it started the first-ever German program in Computational Visualistics. By 2011, OVGU began offering scholarships to its students. Its main research campus opened in 2013.
