Only candidates who have qualified in the national eligibility cum entrance test for postgraduate courses in the relevant year may take part. They must hold a recognised bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery degree, or the corresponding dental degree for dental seats, and must have completed or be due to complete the compulsory rotating internship by the cut-off date stated in the notification, with registration held with a recognised medical or dental council. For state quota seats, candidates must satisfy the nativity and residence conditions notified by the Kerala government, and the certificates, service quota conditions and category documents required are set out in the prospectus issued for the year.
