The process runs online in rounds published by the commissioner. Qualified doctors register on the state portal, pay the prescribed fee, submit certificates for verification, fill and lock their options of college and speciality, and are allotted seats strictly in the order of state merit within their category and quota. Allotment is followed by fee payment and joining at the allotted college within the notified window, after which further rounds, including mop up and stray vacancy rounds, are held for seats that remain unfilled. The seats covered include
doctor of medicine,
master of surgery and postgraduate
diploma courses along with the corresponding dental postgraduate seats. Reservation, the service quota for government doctors, and the bond and fee conditions laid down by the Kerala government are applied during allotment rather than being decided by any test.
