NDA 2026 exam pattern and syllabus

The written exam is held in offline mode across 75 centres. Paper-I tests Mathematics (300 marks, 2½ hours) and Paper-II tests General Ability (600 marks, 2½ hours). Negative marking is one-third of the question’s mark.

The syllabus is based on Class 11–12 NCERT topics. Mathematics covers Algebra, Matrices, Trigonometry, Analytical Geometry, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Vector Algebra and Statistics. On passing out, they are commissioned as Lieutenants with a starting salary of ₹56,100 per month (7th CPC).
