Questions students ask about entrance exams

Answered from what this catalogue actually holds.

This page lists 418 entrance exams — 106 in engineering, 70 in management, 49 in medical, 37 in science. Each one has its own page with dates, eligibility, application process, exam pattern, syllabus, cut-offs and results.

By the number of colleges that accept the score: JEE Main (1,890 colleges), CAT (1,568 colleges), MAT (1,324 colleges), NEET (1,229 colleges), CMAT (1,212 colleges). From any exam page you can jump straight to the colleges that take that score.

Of the exams that have announced a date, the earliest is University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Engineering Aptitude Test on April 2026. Dates are shown only where the conducting body has published them; the rest are marked as awaited rather than guessed.

A UG entrance is written after Class 12 for a bachelor's programme — JEE Main for engineering, NEET for medicine, CLAT for law. A PG entrance is written after a bachelor's degree for a master's — CAT for management, GATE for M.Tech, NEET PG for medicine. Each exam page states the level so you can tell at a glance which stage it belongs to.

Usually not. Most colleges accept a national or state-level score, which is why one JEE Main or CAT attempt can be used at hundreds of institutions. A minority run their own test in addition. The colleges listed against each exam are the ones that accept that exam's score.
