Overview
Andhra Pradesh Education Common Entrance Test (AP EdCET) is conducted by Dravidian University, Kuppam, on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). It is the entrance examination for admission to B.Ed. and B.Ed. Special Education programmes in Andhra Pradesh.
The examination is intended for graduates who want to enter teacher education. Candidates choose a methodology subject based on their qualifying degree and academic background. The available methodologies are Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Social Studies and English.
AP EdCET 2026 is an objective-type online examination with 150 questions carrying 150 marks. The test lasts two hours. Part A covers General English, Part B covers General Knowledge and Teaching Aptitude, and Part C covers the methodology selected by the candidate.
The 2026 examination was scheduled for May 8 in two online shifts. Candidates are ranked within their selected methodology based on marks obtained in the entrance examination. The rank is used for admission to B.Ed. and B.Ed. Special Education programmes, subject to the applicable eligibility, reservation and counselling rules.
