Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test

INI-CET is a computer-based test drawing on the full MBBS curriculum, covering pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical subjects such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, microbiology, forensic medicine, community medicine, medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and the smaller clinical specialities. Questions are objective, and the paper includes negative marking as specified in the prospectus. Scores from the test are used to admit candidates to MD, MS, DM, MCh, MDS and postgraduate diploma seats at the participating institutes of national importance, through a common counselling and seat-allotment process run for those seats alone. It is a separate route from NEET PG, which is used for postgraduate seats in most other medical colleges in the country, and a candidate may sit both. The exact subject weightage, question count, duration and counselling schedule are published in the prospectus issued by AIIMS New Delhi for each session.
