Maharashtra BEd Common Entrance Test

The test is normally computer based and objective, and covers areas such as mental ability and reasoning, general awareness including current affairs and questions on education and school systems, and language comprehension in English and Marathi. The paper is aimed at judging whether a candidate has the general aptitude and communication ability expected of a trainee teacher, rather than testing pedagogy that is yet to be taught. A parallel test is conducted for the integrated BA BEd and BSc BEd programmes entered after class 12, so candidates must apply for the correct version. After the result, the State CET Cell publishes a merit list and conducts online registration, document verification at facilitation centres, choice filling and several rounds of seat allotment, followed by institutional level rounds for vacant seats. The number of questions, duration, marking scheme and syllabus are stated in the information brochure released with each notification.
