Is 20,000 rank in JEE Main enough to get me a seat in DTU?

First of all, congratulations on securing such an impressive rank in JEE Main 2024. I am a second year B.Tech IT student at DTU. 20,000 is a pretty good rank and it will open ample branch options for you, even more if you are a Delhi Candidate. I have mentioned below the previous year JEE MAIN cutoff for B.Tech admissions at DTU- JEE MAIN 2023 Cutoff for B.Tech admissions at DTU (General Category) Branch Non-Delhi Candidate Delhi Candidate B.Tech Computer Engineering 6,224 13,345 B.Tech Information Technology 8,047 16,364 B.Tech Software Engineering 10,742 19,967 B.Tech Mathematics and Computing 14,191 22,844 B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering 17,427 31,328 B.Tech Electrical Engineering 26,778 45,966 B.Tech Mechanical Engineering 34,761 58,304 B.Tech Engineering Physics 35,157 60,976 B.Tech Automotive Engineering 38,448 68,769 B.Tech Chemical Engineering 1,55,628 97,229 B.Tech Industrial & Production Engineering 1,67,573 99,535 B.Tech Civil Engineering 1,83,336 5,84,235 B.Tech Biotechnology 1,99,849 7,06,173 B.Tech Environmental Engineering 2,03,503 8,81,148 Unfortunately, a rank of 20,000 in JEE MAIN won’t fetch you a seat in Computer Engineering / IT / Software Engineering at DTU. You won’t get admission into Mathematics & Computing or ECE if you are a non-delhi candidate. But all the other branches will be most certainly open for you. In case you are a Delhi candidate, things will be even more in your favor. I hope you choose a good branch at DTU, and begin your journey at this esteemed engineering college.

I am a non-Delhi candidate. Can I get admission at DTU with 92 percentile in JEE Main?

I am myself a non-delhi candidate who got into B.Tech Computer Engineering at DTU in 2023. Since you haven’t mentioned your category, I am assuming that you are a general category candidate. A 92 percentile in JEE Main 2024 will roughly fetch you a rank between 94,001 to 95,000. I am listing below the 2023 B.Tech cutoff for DTU to give you a general idea of the minimum marks required for admission- JEE MAIN 2023 Cutoff for B.Tech admissions at DTU (General Category) Branch Non-Delhi Candidate B.Tech Computer Engineering 6,224 B.Tech Information Technology 8,047 B.Tech Software Engineering 10,742 B.Tech Mathematics and Computing 14,191 B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering 17,427 B.Tech Electrical Engineering 26,778 B.Tech Mechanical Engineering 34,761 B.Tech Engineering Physics 35,157 B.Tech Automotive Engineering 38,448 B.Tech Chemical Engineering 1,55,628 B.Tech Industrial & Production Engineering 1,67,573 B.Tech Civil Engineering 1,83,336 B.Tech Biotechnology 1,99,849 B.Tech Environmental Engineering 2,03,503 As a non-Delhi candidate, things will be more difficult for you. However, you can expect admission into B.Tech Chemical Engineering, Industrial & Production Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biotechnology, and Environmental Engineering with 92 percentile in JEE MAIN 2024.

I got 94 percentile in JEE Main. Can I get a decent branch at DTU?

94 percentile in JEE Main 2024 will roughly fetch you a rank between 69,801-70,000. I am assuming you are a general category candidate. I have listed below the 2023 cutoff for B.Tech admissions at DTU to give you a basic idea of the current trend- JEE MAIN 2023 Cutoff for B.Tech admissions at DTU (General Category) Branch Non-Delhi Candidate Delhi Candidate B.Tech Computer Engineering 6,224 13,345 B.Tech Information Technology 8,047 16,364 B.Tech Software Engineering 10,742 19,967 B.Tech Mathematics and Computing 14,191 22,844 B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering 17,427 31,328 B.Tech Electrical Engineering 26,778 45,966 B.Tech Mechanical Engineering 34,761 58,304 B.Tech Engineering Physics 35,157 60,976 B.Tech Automotive Engineering 38,448 68,769 B.Tech Chemical Engineering 1,55,628 97,229 B.Tech Industrial & Production Engineering 1,67,573 99,535 B.Tech Civil Engineering 1,83,336 5,84,235 B.Tech Biotechnology 1,99,849 7,06,173 B.Tech Environmental Engineering 2,03,503 8,81,148 From this table it is clear that you won’t get a top branch at DTU with a 94 percentile (69,801-70,000 rank) in JEE Main 2024. However, you will surely get admission to a lower B.Tech branch like Chemical, Industrial & Production, Civil, Biotech, or Environmental Engineering. (For the Delhi Quota, the candidate must have completed their class 11th and 12th from Delhi). DTU conducts engineering admissions through JAC Delhi Counselling. The choice is ultimately yours to make. But if you are keen to get admission into DTU, you can surely opt for one of these branches.

Can I get into DTU with 90 Percentile?

As per the previous year data, if a candidate scores the 90 percentile in the General Category for the Home and Other state candidates, the Predicted rank ranges between 108240 and 123890 rank. One can get admission into Delhi Technological University but in their preferred branches, with 90 percentile marks. If you are focusing on top branches like CSE, IT, Mechanical then you have to secure at least 99-98 percentile. For other branches like chemical, civi or biotechnology you have pretty good chances. Below is the last round cutoffs for DTU: Courses 2023 B.Tech Computer Engineering 6224 B.Tech Information Technology 8047 B.Tech Software Engineering 10742 B.Tech Mathematics and Computing 14191 B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering 17427 B.Tech Electrical Engineering 26778 B.Tech Mechanical Engineering 34761 B.Tech Engineering Physics 35157 B.Tech Automotive Engineering 38448 B.Tech Chemical Engineering 155628 B.Tech Industrial & Production Engineering 167573 B.Tech Civil Engineering 183336 B.Tech Biotechnology 199849 B.Tech Environmental Engineering 203503

How is the BBA course in DTU?

DTU is a well-reputed college. It is known for its engineering courses. People assume that it is as good for BBA as engineering. Unfortunately, this is not the case. The office staff at the East Delhi campus could be more supportive. They do not answer student queries, and keep on delaying responses to a later date. In the end, they put all the blame on students. Eventually, one is left with the only option of visiting the main campus for query resolution. But the main campus staff responds that the entire work related to BBA/MBA is done on the East campus itself. As for BBA placements, they are below average at present. The packages are very low, and the placement percentage is nowhere near the promised 100%. I recommend you look for other options for a BBA instead of DTU.

Among NIT Delhi, DTU, and NSUT, which one is better in terms of placement?

NIT Delhi is very young, and it can not be compared to NSUT and DTU. Now the better option among these two depends on your branch choice. If you want to opt for CoE/IT/ECE, NSUT has slightly better placements in these branches. But in core branches (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Poly), DTU has a really good placement record. Moreover, DTU has a great campus life.

How are the placements at DTU?

Students who have completed there 4 sem are eligible to sit in campus placements to secure 2month summer internship and students who have completed there 6th sem are eligible to sit in campus placements to secure 6 month internship along with ppo or fulltime or direct fulltime opportunities. Around 70-80% students gets placed in tech branches and around 50-70% gets placed in core branches. My plan after degree are to join a fulltime offer.

How is the faculty at DTU?

Dtu has a large and diverse faculty bodyspread across its engineering, Science, Management, design, and humanities department. each department typically includes Professors, Associate professor, Assistant professor and sometimes visting faculty
