Eligibility
Admission to MCA requires a completed bachelor's degree with mathematics as a subject at some stage of the qualifying course, since the programme assumes a working comfort with quantitative reasoning from the outset. Institutes typically admit candidates either through a national or institute-level computer applications entrance test or, in some cases, through direct merit on graduation marks, and the process followed can differ from one institute and year to the next. The minimum percentage required in the qualifying degree, and any relaxation extended to reserved categories, are decided afresh for every admission session by the concerned authority, so an applicant should treat the current year's official notification as the accurate reference rather than an earlier one.
