About this Scholarship
The Research Fellowship in Engineering at Banaras Hindu University supports full-time research leading to a PhD in engineering and applied disciplines. It is open to motivated students who wish to pursue doctoral work in departments such as Ceramics, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mining, Metallurgical Engineering, Pharmaceutics, Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics and Applied Physics, as well as Schools of Bio-Chemical, Bio-Medical Engineering and Materials Science & Technology. The fellowship is designed for candidates with a strong academic record and a clear research proposal aligned with the university’s priority areas.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field from a recognized university with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD, or DNT categories may apply with a minimum of 50% marks. There is no upper age limit, and the fellowship is open to Indian nationals only.
Selection is primarily based on academic merit and the relevance of the proposed research topic.
