The CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (SERC) Ph.D. programme is for engineering graduates who want to pursue doctoral research in advanced structural engineering topics at CSIR-SERC Chennai. The programme offers research opportunities in key areas such as structural concrete, wind and earthquake engineering, structural health monitoring, towers and metal structures, fatigue and fracture, sustainable materials, and nanotechnology. Candidates work under expert supervision in a national laboratory setting.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Aerospace) or a related field with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade. SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PwD candidates are eligible for a 5% relaxation. There is no upper age limit.
Selection is based on academic record and an interview conducted by CSIR-SERC.
