The ISHAN UDAY – Special Scholarship Scheme For North Eastern Region supports students from the eight North Eastern states by providing financial assistance for higher education. This centrally sponsored scholarship offers Rs.8,000 per month for up to 10 months each academic year. Half of the scholarships are reserved for Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, Management, and related fields, while the other half supports Science, Engineering, Technology, Medical, Technical, Agriculture, and Forestry programs.
Selection is merit-based, determined by State-wise rankings from applications submitted on the Government of India’s National Scholarship Portal.
Eligibility Criteria
Students from the North Eastern states—Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura—are eligible.
