About this Scholarship
The Architectural History and Historic Preservation Division (AHHP) internship offers undergraduate students hands-on experience in architectural history and historic preservation research. Under the guidance of the Division’s director, interns analyze primary source materials to address preservation challenges within the Smithsonian’s architectural collections. This 10-week, full-time program provides exposure to professional research methods while contributing to real-world preservation efforts.
Participants receive a stipend of $2,000, subject to funding availability, and gain insight into the intersection of history, architecture, and cultural heritage conservation.
Eligibility Criteria
Open to undergraduate students who have completed coursework in art history, architectural history, or related fields. No citizenship restrictions apply. Applicants should demonstrate academic interest in preservation studies.
