About this Scholarship

The Queen Elizabeth Scholarships (QES) fund Indian PhD students to conduct doctoral research in biomedical science at the University of Calcutta. It is open to Indian citizens who are under 35 years of age and fluent in English and/or French. Scholars receive full tuition, books, research equipment, airfare, health insurance, a monthly stipend, and local transport.

Under the guidance of Professor Marc Germain and Dr. Urmi Chatterji, selected scholars investigate the role of autophagy in neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.
