Recognizing the diverse needs of its student body, Jamia Millia Islamia extends limited hostel facilities to accommodate the growing numbers. These hostels, comprising separate accommodations for both male and female students, have a combined capacity to house 2220 boys and 1900 girls.

Admission to these hostels is based on a holistic evaluation, considering various factors to ensure fair and equitable access to accommodation. The criteria include academic performance, proximity of the student's home to the university, special considerations for applicants from specific regions, duration of stay at Jamia Millia Islamia, economic background, involvement in extracurricular activities such as NCC/NSS and sports, and finally, a personal interview.
