Admission to the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and LL.M. programmes at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU), Lucknow is based on CLAT ranks. The cut-offs are the closing ranks for each counselling round.
For the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme under the General Category (All India quota) in 2026, the closing rank was 747 in Round 1 and 776 in Round 2. This was the most preferred undergraduate course for General candidates.
For the LL.M. programme under the General Category (All India quota) in 2026, the closing rank was 290 in Round 1 and 312 in Round 2. This was the most preferred postgraduate course for General candidates.
Cut-offs are not fixed once counselling starts. They may be revised after each round because candidates accept seats, withdraw, or request upgradation. This affects seat availability and demand, so the closing rank for a programme may change in subsequent rounds.
Compared to other National Law Universities (NLUs), Lucknow's cutoff is moderately high. In recent cycles, top NLUs like NLSIU Bengaluru and NALSAR Hyderabad have closed around the top 100-150 ranks, while RMLNLU Lucknow has closed around the 700-800 rank range. This makes Lucknow more accessible than the very elite NLUs but more competitive than many newer or lower-demand NLUs.
