Because the separate AIIMS undergraduate test has been discontinued, the relevant examination is NEET UG, an objective test covering the Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, conducted by the National Testing Agency in a single sitting on a common date across the country. Candidates receive a score and an all India rank, and those who meet the qualifying percentile enter counselling. AIIMS
MBBS seats are filled through the online counselling rounds run by the Medical Counselling Committee, where candidates fill choices and are allotted seats by rank, category and the seat matrix released for the year. Seats exist at AIIMS New Delhi and at the other AIIMS institutions established across the states. The syllabus, paper pattern, qualifying percentile and counselling schedule for a year are published in the official NEET UG information bulletin and in the committee's notices.
