BSE Odisha Class 10 Exam Pattern 2023-24 Highlights

The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha will conduct Class 10 exams in two terms for the 2023-24 academic year. The first term runs from April to September 2023, and the second term runs from October 2023 to March 2024.

Important Changes in BSE Odisha Assessment Pattern 2023-24

The major changes in the BSE Odisha Class 10 assessment scheme 2024 include the following:

  • There will be four formative assessments, two in each term, for the internal assessment.
  • The summative exam will be conducted for a total of 100 marks at the end of the academic year 2023-24 for each subject. Out of these 100 marks, 50 marks will be for the objective part and 50 for the subjective part.
  • For Madhyama courses, one exam will be conducted at the end of the year for a total of 100 or 75 marks. Out of the total marks, the MCQ part will carry 50 or 40 marks and the subjective questions carry 50 or 35 marks.
  • The question papers for the mid-term exam will be prepared by the board and will be sent to the District Education Officer of each district. The officer will then send the question papers to the respective schools.
  • The BSE Odisha Class 10 exam dates will be released by the board, but the results will be prepared and published by the schools.
  • The supplementary exams for failed candidates will be held only after the term 2 summative assessment.
  • The internal assessments will also include the aspirational components.

BSE Odisha Assessment Criteria 2023-24

BSE Odisha class 10 assessment will follow Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation, with minor changes from the previous year.

  • Each term will have two formative assessments and one term-end examination. The syllabus is divided into four quarters.
  • Term-end examinations (Summative Assessment I and II) will cover about 50% of the total syllabus, based on the term-wise breakup.
  • Internal assessment will be conducted as formative assessments, with one in each quarter.
  • The question pattern will be the same for both summative assessments.
