CPPT is a school-level paper built on the mathematics and science studied up to class 10, so questions are drawn from mathematics, physics and chemistry at that standard, and are set in objective form to be answered on an answer sheet within the time the board prescribes. The examination is scheduled for May 2026 and is held at centres across Chhattisgarh notified by the board. Results are published as a merit list, and the ranks in that list are used in the counselling process conducted for polytechnic admission in the state, in which candidates register, verify their documents, fill in choices of institution and
diploma branch, and are allotted seats according to merit, category and the reservation rules applied in Chhattisgarh. Seats covered include the diploma programmes in engineering and technology offered by government, aided and private polytechnics in the state. Syllabus and marking scheme are given in the official notification.
