The common entrance test uses separate papers for the different programmes on offer, and the paper for management courses is an aptitude test of the kind used for
MBA admission, generally covering quantitative ability, verbal ability and comprehension, logical and analytical reasoning and general awareness. Papers for other programmes are based on the subject knowledge expected at the qualifying level. The question count, duration, mode and marking scheme for each paper are published by the university in its admission notification, and the test is scheduled for May 2026 in the current cycle. Results lead to a merit list used for counselling and seat allotment in the university's teaching departments at Indore, and the university may accept scores from recognised national entrance examinations for some programmes under its own rules.
