Goa Common Entrance Test

When it is held, the test covers the Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for engineering aspirants, with Biology where the course requires it, and it has been conducted as papers of objective questions with a set duration for each subject. A merit list is prepared from the scores, and admission to seats in the government and private professional colleges of Goa follows through the centralised counselling conducted by the directorate, in which candidates fill choices and seats are allotted by rank, category and reservation, including the seats reserved for candidates domiciled in the state. In cycles where the state has relied on national tests, the same counselling machinery is used but the merit is drawn from those scores instead. The subjects, pattern, syllabus and the basis of merit for a given year are stated in the official notification issued by the directorate.
