Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management Joint Entrance Test

The entrance test is an objective examination made up of multiple-choice questions set at the school level. It generally covers English language and comprehension, numerical ability, reasoning and general knowledge or current affairs, along with questions on aptitude for the service industry, since hospitality study depends on communication and people skills as much as on academic content. Candidates who perform well in the written test are usually called for a personal interview or group interaction in which their communication, presentation and interest in the hospitality field are assessed. The test is expected in May 2026 and is conducted in the mode and at the venue notified by the institute. Admission is offered on combined merit, taking into account the test score, the further selection stages and the marks obtained in the qualifying examination where the institute rules provide for it. The number of questions, duration and marking scheme are stated in the official prospectus.
