Under the current arrangement, a candidate chooses the CUET subject papers that match the JNU programme applied for, sits the computer-based test conducted by the National Testing Agency, and is then considered by the university on the basis of that score together with any further requirement the programme sets, such as a viva voce for research admissions. CUET UG papers are based on the class 12 syllabus in the chosen subjects along with a general test, while CUET PG papers test the subject knowledge of the corresponding bachelor's degree, which for JNU includes languages, international studies, social sciences, life sciences, physical sciences, environmental sciences and computer and systems sciences. Seat allotment follows the merit list and reservation policy set out in the JNU e-prospectus.
