The test is computer-based, objective and generally offered in a remotely proctored form over several phases, so a candidate books a convenient slot within the announced window. It assesses general management aptitude rather than any business coursework, drawing on quantitative and numerical ability, verbal ability and reading comprehension, logical and analytical reasoning, and general awareness, so applicants from engineering, commerce, science and humanities backgrounds compete on the same ground. Performance in the test, or in the accepted national test for exempted candidates, is used to shortlist applicants for a group activity or personal interview, and the final merit combines that selection stage with the academic record. Successful candidates are offered seats in the management programmes and specialisations the school runs. The pattern, section-wise composition, duration and marking scheme are published in the university's admission brochure.
