The process handles the state's share of seats, with the remaining share filled through the national counselling committee. Each round follows a set sequence: online registration on the state portal, payment of the prescribed fees, uploading of documents and verification at a facilitation centre, publication of the provisional and final state merit lists with a window to raise grievances, choice filling and locking, and then seat allotment based on NEET rank, category and the state's reservation rules. Allotted candidates report to the institution, complete admission formalities and pay the fees, and may become eligible for upgradation in a subsequent round under the stated conditions. Institutional and mop-up rounds follow for seats that remain vacant. Courses covered include medicine, dentistry and, through related processes, allied health and nursing streams.
