- Design Aptitude and Creativity: Innovation in design, theme development, imagination exercises, visual storytelling, and creative writing.
- Graphics and Visualization: Drawing fundamentals, 3D visualisation, lettering, visual logic, perspective drawing, and pictograms.
- Design Principles: Principles of composition, form and function, elements of design, balance, and proportion.
- Colour and Texture: Colour psychology, optical illusions, mood associations, colour terminology, and pattern work.
- Observation and Memory: Light and shade, memory drawing, picture analysis, and story pictures.
- Forms and Patterns: Natural and geometrical forms, ornaments, motifs, and scale.
- Analytical Reasoning: Lateral thinking, logical reasoning, pattern recognition, mirror images, and paper folding.
- General Awareness: General knowledge related to the design world and current affairs in design and technology.
- English Comprehension: Reading and language skills at Class 12 level.
