Symbiosis National Aptitude Test

SNAP is a computer-based objective test of general aptitude rather than of any degree subject. It assesses general English, covering reading comprehension, verbal reasoning and verbal ability; quantitative aptitude with data interpretation and data sufficiency; and analytical and logical reasoning, with the exact section structure and any special question types announced in the bulletin for that session. A marking scheme with negative marking for wrong answers applies as published. Scores are used by the participating Symbiosis institutes to shortlist candidates for their own further selection stages, which usually include a written ability test, group exercise and personal interaction, after which each institute prepares its own merit list combining the SNAP score with performance in those stages and, in some cases, academic record and work experience. The number of questions, duration, test sessions and the list of participating institutes are notified each year.
