SRM Common Admission Test

The test is an aptitude examination rather than a test of any particular degree subject, so applicants from any academic background can take it. It typically assesses quantitative aptitude and data interpretation, verbal ability and reading comprehension, logical and analytical reasoning, and general awareness of business and current affairs, using objective questions with a marking scheme published in the admission notification. Candidates who perform well are called for the institute's further selection rounds, which commonly include a group discussion or written ability exercise and a personal interview, and the final merit list combines the test score with performance in those rounds and, in many cases, the academic record and any work experience. The number of questions, duration, mode of the test, examination windows and the schedule for results and interviews are announced by SRM Institute of Science and Technology for each admission session.
