Overview

What is WBJEE 2026?

WBJEE is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the WBJEE Board. It selects students for admission to undergraduate courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, and Architecture in West Bengal.

Admission is offered in Universities, Govt. Colleges, and Self-Financed Institutes in the state. The exam is conducted in OMR-based offline mode in 2 papers.

  • Candidates appearing in both papers are eligible for the General Merit Rank (GMR) and Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR).
  • Such candidates are considered for admission in all courses of Engineering and Pharmacy.
  • Candidates appearing only in Paper II are eligible for the Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR) only.
  • Candidates appearing only in Paper I are not eligible for any rank.

WBJEE 2026: Eligibility Criteria

The WBJEE Board will release the official eligibility criteria on its website along with the information bulletin. The criteria below are based on the previous year's pattern.

Eligibility for appearing in WBJEE

  • Must be a citizen of India or OCI
  • Passed or appearing in 10+2 or class 12th
  • The lower age limit is 17 years, with no upper age limit

Note: For admission to the degree-level Marine Engineering Course, the upper age limit is 25 Years.

Academic Criteria

For Engineering/Technology courses

  • Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with the following subjects:

Physics/Mathematics/ Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Biology/Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/ Entrepreneurship

  • For agriculture engineering: Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of reserved categories)
  • Other criteria to be fulfilled for admission
  • Passed in English in 12th with at least 30% marks
  • Passed theoretical and practical/project exams in all permitted subject combinations

For Pharmacy courses

  • Must have passed '10+2' examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks.
  • Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of reserved categories)
  • Passed in English in 12th with at least 30% marks

For Architecture Course

  • Passed an examination at the end of the 10+2 scheme of examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics taken together with individual pass marks.
  • 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination
  • Candidate must also qualify for the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture)

Marine Engineering and Mining Engineering

There are specific criteria for admission into Marine Engineering and Mining Engineering.

Marine Engineering

  • Candidates must pass the 10+2 Examination from a recognised Council/Board in regular class mode.
  • 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together with individual pass marks in each subject.
  • Minimum of 50% marks in English as a subject in either the '10' standard or in the '10+2' standard.

Mining Engineering Eligibility

For mining engineering, the eligibility criteria are the same as for general engineering courses. However, a candidate must not have colour blindness or uniocularity.

WBJEE 2026: Registration Process

The WBJEE Registration process will start in February 2026 after the official notification is released by the WBJEE Board on its official website.

  • To register for WBJEE 2026, candidates have to fill out the application form online on the official WBJEEB website, wbjeeb.nic.in.
  • The WBJEE Registration process will include filling in personal and academic details, uploading scanned documents, and paying the registration fees.

Confirmation Page

After registering for WBJEE 2026, candidates have to download the confirmation page. The application is not complete until the confirmation page is generated.

The confirmation page needs to be generated for a successful registration and does not need to be downloaded. However, it can be used for future references, hence students are advised to keep it safe.

WBJEE 2026: Documents Required

The following documents need to be uploaded during the online application form. The photo and signature must be uploaded in one go.

Photo and Signature Re-upload

A candidate has to reupload a photograph and signature if there is any discrepancy or the image is blurry. If a candidate does not re-upload a corrected photo or signature, the admit card will not be issued.

There will be no date limit for taking a photograph. However, the image must be recently taken so that it matches the candidate's physical features.

WBJEE 2026: Fee Structure

The fee structure for the WBJEE 2026 application form is given below. The fee once paid by the candidates is not refundable under any circumstances.

The transaction receipt is generated by the bank and is not required by the Board. But if there is a payment failure or break at the end of the bank, the candidates may need it to recover their money from the bank.

WBJEE 2026: Admit Card

The admit cards will be released around 10 days before the commencement of the examination. The admit card is the ticket to enter the examination hall.

It includes details such as the candidate's details, examination details, and the exam centre details.
