About the Institution
IIT Guwahati, established in 1994, is a government-regulated Engineering university. Located along the northern banks of the Brahmaputra River, this institute ranked 7th under the Engineering category by NIRF in 2024. Globally, it has been recognized by QS World University Rankings with a 355th rank in 2025. With over 160 courses at the UG, PG, and doctoral levels, B.Tech is their flagship course. IIT Guwahati admissions for its B.Tech programs are conducted based on the JEE Advanced ranks, followed by seat allotments organized by CSAB through JoSAA Counseling.
