The UPSC Engineering Services Examination is a competitive national-level test for engineering graduates who wish to join Group A and Group B posts in central government services such as railways, roads, power and public works. Conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, the exam assesses technical knowledge alongside general studies and aptitude. It is held at multiple centres across India once a year in written and interview stages.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must hold a degree in engineering from a recognised university or institution. The exam is open to all categories including general, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD and EBC. There is no upper age limit for the general category; relaxations apply for reserved categories as per government norms.
