ETH Zurich Professor Ralf Jung (D-INFK) has received the ICFP Most Influential Paper Award for the 2016 paper “Higher-Order Ghost State”, co-authored with Robbert Krebbers, Lars Birkedal and Derek Dreyer. The award recognises the paper’s lasting impact on the Iris program logic framework, which has become an important foundation for research on software verification. It is Jung’s second Most Influential Paper Award within two years, highlighting the continued impact of his research.

Raffaello D’Andrea, Professor of Dynamic Systems and Control at ETH Zurich, has been recognised by the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) for his pioneering contributions to distributed robotic and aerial systems. The 2026 Industrial Achievement Award was presented on 23 August as part of the 23rd IFAC World Congress in Busan, South Korea.

A paper co-authored by Professor Florian Tramèr from the Department of Computer Science has received a Test of Time Award at this year's USENIX Security Symposium. Published in 2016, the research showed how machine learning models made available through online services can be copied by attackers. The work has had a lasting impact on AI security research and remains highly relevant today.

The American Meteorological Society (AMS) has awarded Professor Daniela Domeisen the Bernhard Haurwitz Memorial Lectureship 2027. Laura De Lorenzis, Professor of Computational Mechanics in the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering at ETH Zurich, has received the 2026 IACM Oden Computational Mechanics Award. Presented by the International Association for Computational Mechanics (IACM), the biennial award recognises her outstanding scientific contributions to computational mechanics.

A prestigious ACS distinction celebrates Prof. Shana Sturla’s pioneering contributions to toxicology research, where innovative chemical and bioanalytical methods are unlocking new insights into disease prevention and personalized therapeutic approaches.

Miriam Filippi, Senior Researcher at the Soft Robotics Lab in the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering, has been awarded the IEEE EMBS Early Career Achievement Award 2026. The award was presented at the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Conference (EMBC) in Toronto on 27 July.
