A Ph.D. is just the beginning! Rockefeller education and training opens the door to a wide variety of careers for biomedical scientists. In addition to academic research, Rockefeller students and postdocs also have interests in both research and non-research careers in biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, science teaching and education, technology transfer and intellectual property, management consulting, science writing and publishing, and science policy and diplomacy.
At Rockefeller, Assistant Dean and Director of Career and Professional Development, Dr. Andrea Morris, helps trainees explore options and gain the skills needed to pursue their chosen path. Throughout their time here, students and postdocs are encouraged to seek individual, personalized career development advice, and to participate in professional development workshops, courses and events designed to explore careers and prepare for successful job searches.
