Stony Brook University is one of America’s most dynamic public universities, a centre of academic excellence and an internationally recognized research institution that is changing the world. It was established in 1957 as a college for the preparation of secondary school teachers of mathematics and science. Stony Brook is home to an exceptionally diverse student body of high achieving students.The University is divided into 13 schools and colleges, and the six health sciences.
