Teaching and learning are at the heart of our mission to build a better future for all.
In and out of the classroom, world-class faculty nurture diverse thinking to fuel discussion and guide students in their exploration of what’s possible. The result? A rich educational journey for students and faculty alike. We highly value experiential learning opportunities as well, so you’ll discover a broad array of hands-on research opportunities, fieldwork, internships, practicums and study-abroad programs on all of our campuses.
Explore more than 200 academic fields, ranging from animal sciences and athletic training to political science and water resource engineering. Many academic programs have achieved noteworthy recognition.
As a WSU graduate student, you’ll collaborate with world-renowned faculty to advance your knowledge while also getting involved in research projects that address some of the world’s critical issues. Most of our grad students have teaching, research, or graduate assistantships or internships that provide a stipend or grant.
We offer a number of academic support programs to help you successfully navigate your educational journey, including advising, peer tutoring, and academic success coaching.
The program supports, tutors, and assesses students’ writing to help them communicate effectively—a skill essential to success in the professional world.
Each year the university chooses a single book to be read by all first-year students, which creates a common academic ground and dialogue as students began their WSU experience. Related programming helps students realize the scope and innovative quality of the university’s world-class research.
Students can spend the summer on the WSU Pullman campus conducting research in a wide variety of fields alongside award-winning professors. The summer concludes with a symposium showcasing student efforts.
