Banaras Hindu University Postgraduate Entrance Test Eligibility Criteria 2026

A candidate seeking regular postgraduate admission must hold a bachelor's degree in the discipline relevant to the programme applied for, from a recognised university, and candidates in the final year of the degree may normally apply subject to producing proof of passing before admission is confirmed. Many programmes prescribe specific subjects or subject combinations in the qualifying degree, and these are listed course by course in the admission bulletin. The candidate must also have appeared in the prescribed paper of the national postgraduate common entrance test for that year, since the score forms the basis of the merit list.
