CGPET

CGPET is an objective test with multiple-choice questions based on the class 11 and class 12 science syllabus followed in Chhattisgarh, covering physics, chemistry and mathematics. It is generally conducted in offline pen and paper mode at centres across the districts of the state, and question papers are offered in the language options notified by the board. The test is expected in May 2026. Candidates receive a rank based on their score, and that rank is used in the centralised counselling conducted by the state admission authority, in which candidates register, verify documents, fill choices of college and branch and are allotted seats according to merit, preference and the reservation policy of Chhattisgarh. Participating institutions include government engineering colleges, government-aided institutions and private engineering colleges approved for admission under the state quota. The number of questions, duration, marking scheme, negative marking rules and the tie-breaking method are set out in the official information brochure released for each cycle.
