JKBOSE Class 12 Exam Pattern 2025

JKBOSE has released the Class 12 exam pattern for 2025. The question paper format for all subjects will be the same as last year. The revised syllabus will apply to the Kashmir area and the U.T. of Ladakh (winter zone) for upcoming examinations.

The syllabus for every subject has been reduced by 40% for the senior secondary and higher secondary exams in 2025.

J&K Board Class 12 Exam Structure

The Class 12 exam has five subjects, including one compulsory language paper, which is English. The second language must be selected from the list of available languages. Each subject carries 100 marks, which includes both practical and theory sections.

The summer zone and the winter zone follow the same pattern. Winter zone examinations are usually delayed due to situations in Kashmir.

J&K Board Class 12 Exam Pattern 2025

In the higher secondary exam (Class 12), there are five subjects including one language paper (English) and one optional subject. The optional subject is selected at the time of initial registration, which is done in Class 11. Candidates from the commerce stream can also take mathematics as an elective subject.

Each paper carries 100 marks. The minimum marks required to pass the examination is 33% sectional and 33% aggregate.

J&K Board Exam Pattern: Commerce Stream

The commerce stream follows the same overall Class 12 exam structure. Students in this stream can also choose mathematics as an elective subject.

Commerce Stream Marking Scheme

The commerce stream has 6 papers, and 2 of them are optional. Each subject carries 100 marks, which includes written work and internal or external assessment.

Accountancy has 80 marks for the written exam and 5 marks for internal assessment. The external assessment in Accountancy is for 15 marks, and students must prepare an assignment on a topic given by the school. The Entrepreneurship paper follows the same pattern.

Shorthand and Type Writing has no written examination. Only internal and external assessments are conducted for this subject.

Around 30% of the syllabus from every subject has been omitted as per the new syllabus. The board has released a list of topics for each subject that are retained for the upcoming exam.
