PSEB Class 10 Board Exam Application
Punjab Board has released the updated exam pattern for PSEB 10. As per the latest pattern, the exams will be conducted across two terms. The pattern helps students understand subject-wise and section-wise marking in each paper.
- The exam will be conducted from 10 PM for a duration of 1.5 hours.
- The exams for Punjabi (A), Punjabi (B), Punjab History & Culture (A & B) subjects will be conducted for 2 hours.
- An additional 15 minutes will be provided to the candidates to fill the OMR sheets.
- Punjab State Education Board will charge a fee of Rs. 300/- from Class 10 students for providing them with the hard copies of their PSEB Class 10 Board exam results and passing certificates.
PSEB 10th Exam Pattern 2023
PSEB will conduct the exams for classes 5, 8, 10, and 12 in two different terms. The first term will be conducted between November and December, and the second term will be conducted between February and March 2023.
The question paper for both terms will be sent by the board, and each term will cover 50% of the syllabus. As per reports, the question paper will be prepared from the question bank that will be made available on the official board page.
The term-1 exam will consist of only multiple-choice questions. The exam will be organized only for main subjects, and no grade or practical subjects will be conducted.
The specially-abled students will receive the same question paper as the regular students, and the exam will be held at the school level. Term-2 will consist of a question paper based on short and long answer questions.

For regular students, the school will take care of the application process. Students will be informed about the dates and fees structure about the application process.
For private students, they will have to apply on their own through the PSEB official website.

PSEB Class 10 Exam Pattern
The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Class 10 exam is held for 100 marks in each subject. The exam duration is 3 hours for all subjects.
The question paper is divided into four sections. There is no choice in any section; all questions must be answered.

- All subjects have a weightage of 100 marks each. 80 marks are for theory and 20 marks are for practical and internal assessments.
- Punjabi or Punjab History and Culture are conducted in 2 parts – Paper A and Paper B. Each paper weighs 75 marks in total, with 65 for theory and 10 for practical and internal assessments.
- The order of sections may interchange, and the marking system may vary.
PSEB 10th Exam Subjects
Group A
Group A includes the following compulsory subjects:
- Punjabi – A & B or Punjab History and culture – A & B

Students can choose between Punjabi or Punjab History and Culture as the 1st language subject.
Group B
Group B includes optional subjects. Students can choose one subject from the elective, prevocational, or NSQF subjects list.

The assessment of computer science is done at the board level. Elective, prevocational, or NSQF subjects are assessed at the school level.

PSEB Class 10 Exam Preparation Tips
Students should follow the PSEB prescribed textbooks for exam preparation. E-textbooks are available online on the PSEB website.
- Make a proper timetable and prepare consistently.
- Revise the whole syllabus at least 2 or 3 times in the last 3 months before the exam.
- Understand the concepts in order to learn to apply them.
- Solve as many exercises as possible in order to make yourself thorough.
- Concentrate during practice sessions to know the concepts by heart.
- Refer to previous years' question papers to understand the paper patterns.
- Solve the model papers within 3 hours of time. This will help you as an exam simulator and help you gain speed for the board exams.
