The TN SSLC 2026 result was declared on May 20, 2026. It is available on tnresults.nic.in and dge.tn.gov.in.

The overall pass percentage is 94.31%. Out of 8,70,643 students who appeared, 8,21,105 passed.

How to Check TN SSLC 2026 Result
You need your registration number (on your hall ticket) and date of birth in DD/MM/YYYY format. Visit tnresults.nic.in or dge.tn.gov.in and enter these two details to view your result and subject-wise marks.
Minimum Marks to Pass
You need at least 35 out of 100 in each language and core subject. For Science, you must independently score at least 20/75 in theory and 15/25 in practical.
Failing even one subject means you have to clear it in the supplementary exam. There is no aggregate pass rule.
CGPA and Percentage on Marksheet
The marksheet shows both. You get subject-wise marks in numbers and a letter grade with grade point for each subject.
The CGPA is the average grade point. If a form asks for percentage, multiply CGPA by 10. This conversion is widely accepted though TNDGE does not formally publish a CGPA-to-percentage formula.
What is a Good CGPA
A CGPA of 9 or above (A2 average, around 81%+) is considered excellent. It is usually enough for Science group seats in top government higher secondary schools.
For the most competitive Science (Bio-Maths) seats, a CGPA of 9.5+ is often preferred. Any CGPA of 4 or above means you have passed all subjects. The grade D (35-40 marks) is the boundary.

Private candidates must register by June 6, 2026, before 5:00 pm. Regular school students can register until June 9, 2026.

Failed in One or More Subjects
No. TN SSLC has no aggregate compensation rule. You must independently score at least 35/100 in every subject.
If you fall below the minimum in any one subject, you are marked fail in that paper. You must clear it in the supplementary exam.
Supplementary Exam for Failed Subjects
You only appear for the subjects you failed. The marks and grades you earned in subjects you passed remain on your record.
You only need to clear the failed papers to get your complete SSLC certificate.
Private Candidate Missed June 6 Deadline
The Tatkal/Special Permission window opens on June 9-10. This is your last chance for this cycle.
Visit the district examination office during those dates. A higher late fee typically applies. If you miss the Tatkal window too, you can appear as a private candidate in next year's main SSLC public exam. There is no cap on the number of attempts.
Failed Supplementary Exam Too
You can appear for the next year's SSLC public exam as a private candidate. TNDGE conducts one main exam and one supplementary per year.
You keep your passing marks in subjects you already cleared. Only the failed subjects carry over as pending.
Supplementary Exam and Revaluation
Apply for the supplementary exam regardless. Revaluation results take time to process and are not guaranteed to change your pass/fail status.
Registering for the supplementary exam (deadline June 9 for regular students) keeps your options open. If revaluation later changes your result to a pass, you can check with the district office about a fee refund for the supplementary registration.
Can Revaluation Reduce Marks
TNDGE's revaluation process is designed to award additional marks if the re-evaluator finds merit. It does not reduce marks already awarded.
However, significant mark increases through revaluation at the secondary board level are not common. Use the scanned answer sheet to decide if there is a clear case before paying for full revaluation.
