West Bengal HS Exam Pattern 2026 Overview

The West Bengal HS Exam Pattern has been released for all subjects on the official website wbchse.wb.gov.in. The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has made major changes to the pattern for 2025-26. The West Bengal HS Exam 2026 will follow a semester-based format.

  • Class 11 will be divided into Semester 1 and Semester 2.
  • Class 12 will include Semester 3 and Semester 4.
  • In the WBCHSE Board Exam 2026, 30% of questions will be MCQ-based, and the rest will be application-based.
  • Candidates must score 30% marks in each subject, in both theory and practical exams, to pass.

The WBCHSE has changed the exam pattern to a semester-based system. The syllabus has been reduced by 30% and will follow the NCERT pattern.
