Eligibility
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from a university recognised by the Dental Council of India. Admission is based on performance in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for MDS (NEET-MDS) followed by state counselling. The minimum qualifying marks for the entrance test and any additional eligibility criteria are set out in the college’s annual admission notification. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.
About Master of Dental Surgery [MDS]
The Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) at Government Dental College & Hospital (GDCH), Ahmedabad is a three-year full-time postgraduate degree programme. Students study advanced clinical and academic subjects in their chosen dental specialty, including oral and maxillofacial surgery, conservative dentistry, orthodontics, prosthodontics, periodontics, oral pathology and public health dentistry. The curriculum combines didactic coursework, seminars, journal clubs and hands-on clinical training in the college’s hospital. Graduates are prepared for clinical practice, teaching positions and research roles in dental colleges and hospitals.
