The IIT Madras-Ph.D and MS Programme offers research-based doctoral and master’s degrees in engineering, science, and humanities. It is open to students who meet the eligibility criteria and wish to pursue advanced studies at one of India’s premier technical institutes. The programme provides opportunities to work with leading faculty and contribute to cutting-edge research across 16 departments, including Aerospace, Biotechnology, Computer Science, and Management Studies.
Regular full-time, part-time, and external options are available, with some positions offering Half Time Research Assistantship (HTRA).
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a relevant master’s degree for the Ph.D programme or a bachelor’s degree for the M.S programme. Eligible categories include SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD, and other minority groups as per government norms. Minimum marks or equivalent grades in the qualifying examination are required, as specified by the institute.
