The information contained within this section is provided as an overview of benefits, available to you as an employee based on eligibility consistent with the relevant collective agreement or employment policy.
Exempt and Excluded employees in full-time continuing appointments, or full-time term appointments of six months or longer, are entitled to twenty-five (25) working days of annual vacation leave with pay. Employees with more than five years of service are entitled to thirty (30) working days. If you are not an Exempt or Excluded employee, your vacation entitlement is determined by your collective agreement.
The Supplemental Employment Benefit (SEB) for Maternity and Parental Leave across various employee groups generally provides 100% of salary for the first week (or two weeks in some cases) of maternity leave, followed by 95% for up to 15 additional weeks. Please refer to your respective employment agreements and policies for specific details.
The College appreciates and recognizes the value of professional and personal development. The College shall waive application and tuition fees for all continuing or regular College employees under the Tuition Waiver for Employees policy guidelines.
At Okanagan College, there are two pension plans – the College Pension Plan and the Municipal Pension Plan – which are public sector plans administered by the BC Pension Corporation.
