HNLU Raipur offers government and merit-based scholarships to deserving students in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. These include University-funded and Government-funded schemes.

University Merit Scholarship

• For B.A. LL.B./ LL.B. students in Semester 3: 24 students are eligible. You need 70% or more in Senior Secondary Examination, a CGPA of 6.00 or above in preceding semesters, and parental income of INR 5,00,000 or less. This is University Funded.
• For LL.M. students in Semester 2: 6 students are eligible. You need 70% or more in your LL.B. degree, a CGPA of 6.00 or above in preceding semesters, and parental income of INR 5,00,000 or less. This is University Funded.

Post Matric Scholarship

This is for SC/ST/OBC students. The number of students varies. You must be domiciled in Chhattisgarh and meet income and caste-based criteria. This is Government Funded.

Minority Scholarship

This is for students from recognized minority communities. The number of students varies. You must meet the family income ceiling and have satisfactory academic performance. This is funded by State and Central Government.

National Level Scholarships

Students are encouraged to apply for scholarships at the national level, such as:

• Aditya Birla Scholarship - Available for the highest-ranking CLAT toppers at HNLU.
• Eklavya Scholarship - Open to students from scheduled categories with established track records of academic merit.
• INSPIRE, NSP, and Central Sector Scholarships - Given by central government bodies based on performance and financial need.

How to apply

Students can apply for multiple scholarships simultaneously, provided they meet the eligibility criteria for each scheme. Final approval and disbursement depend on the rules of the respective scholarship providers, as some schemes may not allow benefits from more than one source. Review the terms and conditions before applying.

Scholarships are generally disbursed after verification of academic performance, income certificates, and other required documents. Government and national-level scholarships are usually credited directly to the student's bank account through official portals such as NSP. The university supports students with documentation and applications to ensure students from poorer sections can access grants.
