About this Scholarship
The Deakin University – Boeing India Industry Research Partnership and Scholarship funds a PhD scholar to develop high-temperature titanium aluminide alloys and additive manufacturing techniques for aerospace and defence applications. It is open to Indian candidates who meet Deakin’s PhD entry requirements and Boeing’s research priorities in alloy development and 3D printing. The project will be co-led by Associate Professor Wei Xu and Associate Professor Thomas Dorin from Deakin University, and Dr. Kishora Shetty from Boeing India.
Together they will advance scientific discovery in materials science for extreme environments.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Preference is given to candidates with prior research experience in titanium alloys, additive manufacturing or aerospace materials. Proficiency in English is required.
There are no income or mark thresholds; selection is based on academic merit and alignment with the project scope.
