The IIT Madras Ph.D. / Direct Ph.D. / M.S. (by Research) Admission is open to eligible candidates seeking advanced research degrees at one of India’s premier technical institutes. It offers admission to Ph.D. and M.S.
(by Research) programmes under regular, part-time, or external schemes. Financial support is available through Half-Time Research Assistantship (HTRA) funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) as well as fellowships from agencies like CSIR, UGC, DST, ICMR, and AICTE. Shortlisted candidates are called for written tests and interviews conducted by departmental selection committees on a rolling basis.

Eligibility Criteria
