Admission to the Ph.D. Programme at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is open to qualified candidates in all disciplines of Engineering & Technology, Science, Architecture & Planning, Humanities & Social Sciences and Management. The programme offers research opportunities across diverse fields for Indian nationals and foreign candidates meeting the eligibility criteria.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks (or equivalent CGPA) for General/OBC/EWS categories. For SC/ST/PwD candidates, the minimum is 50%. Final-year Master’s students may also apply.
Admission for reserved categories follows Government of India norms. Institute Research Assistantships are available as per MHRD guidelines, subject to Institute regulations.
