To apply you need to meet these conditions: The scheme is intended for students studying in class 9 at schools in the Kolkata and Haldia locations covered by the programme, drawn from households within the income ceiling set for the cycle. Applicants are generally expected to have passed class 8 with the minimum marks the scheme prescribes, to be currently enrolled in class 9, and to have a bank account in which any support can be received, or access to a guardian's account where the scheme permits it. The marks and income figures held in this record belong to an earlier cycle and are not restated here. Selection follows screening and verification, so meeting the criteria does not amount to an assurance of an award.
